That's not exactly what I was proposing. When I tried to match the Seasonic's 24 pin connector tothe 20 pin plug on the mobo, I noted that the latch mated when the PSU plug wasall the way to the left. That left two pairs of pins beyond the 20 pin connector. I also noted, that the plastic housing was half way split, and as I pushed the connector in, that small block of 4 pins broke off, and could be tucked away.
I could see that they were as additional set of 12, 3.3, 5 volts, and ground as you described. They were also the same color as the 4 pin connector that went into the CPU power plug.
Every thing worked perfectly, and the result is an extra, unused 4 pin block that has once been semi-connected to the main power connector.
I suppose a picture would help, but that's not doable right now.
