Converted from RX 560 to RTX 3050 OC and have problems

I changed over from an old RX 560 to a new RTX 3050 OC 8gb. I uninstalled the AMD Adrenalin drivers and rebooted before installing the new card. Now I get video freezes but audio continues (gaming), and sometimes a crash. Is there something else I should have done (driver uninstalls etc) before this swap? The temps look fine.
System config: i5-11400, 16gb DDR4, Samsung NvME 500bb, ASUS Prime B560-A mobo.
Thanks

Yep, downloaded the GeForce drivers. The PSU is a 500W unit. I used pcpartpicker to estimate the needed power and it indicated 289W total needed.

Use it as an excuse to return the RTX 3050 and buy a far stronger RX 6600 instead and pocket the difference in price. The RX 6600 is pretty close to RTX 3060 performance while usually costing $50 to $100 less than the RTX 3050.

EDIT: Link showing the 6600 gets 95% of the 3060's performance at 1080p and 90% of the 3060's performance at 1440p in techpowerup's test suite
