Converted from LP to Natural Gas

Everything is hooked up and converted. No leaks. Top burners are getting plenty of gas and light fine. The pilot for the oven is lit, but even when adjusted to the highest setting, the pilot flame is extremely small. When I turn the oven up all the high, the pilot gets bigger but the [diffusor?] doesn't light. If I stick a match to it, it still doesn't light so I don't think it is getting gas.

From what I could find out on my own, there is some kind of safety part that is suppose to get heated up by the pilot when you turn up the gas, and then the [diffusor?] will get gas and then light.

Any suggestions?

IIRC the stuff that came with our gas stove included different brass nozzles for LP gas vs natural gas. I am at work or I would go look in the packet to see what it said about that.

They're called spuds. They are for the top burners, with a larger hole since natural has less pressure. We put them in.

good link

Thanks for the link - yes we flipped that regulator part for natural gas. And I think they did something for the oven burner as well...

Gas appliances sound like a nightmare waiting to happen.

I mean, when was the last time you heard of someones house filling up with electrons and being leveled? ;)

I'd call up the pros.

Haha, I had one guy from the gas company and another contractor from a furnace company, and they didn't seem to worried about it. One of them tells me I might need to pull a part out and clean it 'cause it may be clogged.

I just want to make sure it wasn't something simple I'm missing before I spend another $xxx on it. This stove is ancient, no electric ignitors or anything.

When's the last time you've heard of someone's house filling up with natural gas and being leveled? I can't recall that I have. But I've heard of plenty of people's house burning because of electrical shorts and bad wiring.
