miata was certainly the first thing that came to my mind. I don't think I would fit in one (6'5"), but you should be able to pick up an older one for under 5K.

94 and later Miata.

A Wrangler would be nice as well, depending on what you want the car for, but 98 and later books for well over $5k (complete redesign), and 96 and older (pre-redesign) models are not as good IMO, plus it would be really difficult to find on in good condition.
