I have a AIW 8500 and normally save my video in either DVD (mpeg2) or VCD (mpeg1) settings. I accidently though saved a show in ati's own VCR "good" format, which is a modified mpeg2. It retains captions and such I believe. Anyway, I can't get it converted to anything useful. I want to make a vcd out of it, but nero won't do mpeg2 -> mpeg1 conversion. VirtualDub doesn't do mpeg2 either. It will play fine in WMP. I tried importing it into Pinnacle Studio 8, but it gives just a green screen for the whole length of the video. Anyone know a way to convert this?

you can out-put it to another recording source (VCR ? another comp with video in ?) the re-record it in the format you want.
good luck

You could just go into ATI's Library applet..right click on the *.VCR file and "export to MPEG-2"......done.

Thanks rbV5 - I've never used the ATI library, so I didn't know that was there. Worked great!
