Convert from MPS to Single Proc

I'm running Win2k Adv Srv and am going to be upgrading the server from Dual PPros to single Xeon. Is there a way to convert the OS back to single and still have it function, or do I have to reinstall? Thanks.

This is the Microsoft Knowledgebase article describing how to change a Single-processor W2K machine to handle Multiple CPU's..

You can use a similar technique to go backwards. I have successfully changed my W2K Professional machine from a ACPI Multiproc to a MPS Multiproc PC without any problems..Regards

Only one problem:

"NOTE: You can use this procedure only to upgrade from a single-processor HAL to a multiple-processor HAL."

WAIT!!!!

Add the flag " /ONECPU" to the WinNT/2K line in boot.ini. When you boot, you should see "1 System Processor" (or similar).
