Hi there,

I posted a similar message earlier but the response was what i have already tried and was not what i was looking for..so hopefully this time I'll get it right.....

I accidently changed my mp3 file extension to vbs...how do i changed it back to the regular mp3 file extension?

The earlier response was for me to changed it in my folder options to find the mp3 file extension and choose the program that i want to read it...thats great for new mp3 files but what about the current mp3 files that still says .(dot)vbs on them? How do i changed these back to mp3 files?

Thanks for your help....

If you cannot see the filename extension in explorer go to tools>folder options>view and check the show filename extensions. That's where it is in windows 2000/ME. That will enable you to change it back to mp3.

You can rename any file by right-clicking on the filename and choose "rename". Just change the extension there. For instance, say you had an mp3 file accidentally renamed like this:

Losing_my_religion.vbs

Just right-click on the name and change the last few letters so it reads:

Losing_my_religion.mp3
