Convert DVD to SWF?

I have a client who has a DVD that was created for them by a local school, it's some type of standards compliance video. They are wanting to upload this video to a new training website they are using but it only accepts videos in SWF format.

Googling for software that does this comes back with plentiful results but I'd rather not wade through all the crap just to see if there's something I could actually use. We're obviously not looking to pay for any software, so hopefully there is something freeware out there that would work.

Is anyone aware of a free program that would take care of this? If not, I'm just going to tell them it's not possible.

It looks like Freemake Video Converter will do this. I've used Freemake quiet a bit over the years and it's a good program with a lot of nice features. Here's a link to the different input's/output's. Looks like swf is on there.

I tried it but doesn't works!:( I also need to rip some DVDs to SWF, so I googled and found this theme, but when I download the program that bbhaag mentioned, I cant import my dvd files to it:confused:

bbhaag you said you have used this program for a long time, so I think maybe something wrong with the settings or options on it? How can I set it up correctly? I'd appreciated it if you could reply me.

Did you try ripping the dvd first to something like an .avi or .mp4 file THEN try converting the ripped file to a SWF?
I've never used freemmake to convert to an swf before so I'm not exactly sure how it works. OK I just tried it out on a .avi file and it's pretty straight forward. Try ripping the dvd first then convertinf to swf and it should work.

it worked for me.

maybe your system has issues? maybe the dvd has issues?

Not my pc problem. I think I need a dvd ripper to rip the DVD to avi or other common format then use freemake to convert it to SWF, as bbhaag said. I found Handbrake on google, but the DVD still cant be ripped with it. So I think maybe something wrong with my DVD.:(
