Convert doc to tiff

I am working on a project and the company that will be printing it needs the file to be a tiff image for foreign languages. What is the best way to convert a doc file into a tiff? I know it can be done by creating a pdf then a tiff. Any better ways?

If adobe is the way to go, what settings should I use since there are also images within the text and I noticed the image gets pixelated when converted. Image is a bmp.
