Mormon “godfather” of gay cure therapy renounces practice and comes out as…….*drumroll*

Gay

I'm assuming he's gonna be excommunicated soon then.

Mormons are a huge force in the modern concentration camps that is the "save the person by sending them somewhere to be tortured by psychopaths" conversion/troubled teen industry. They have lots of money in it, so its not going any where. I think it might have even been the blueprint for the modern for profit prison industry too.

The mormon church denounced the practice back in 2019.

While it's nice they finally got around to "denouncing" it at all I don't think I'd be bragging about it taking until 2019.

That means anytime before 2018 they were fine with it.

Not going to disagree. Just wanted people to know it isn't a continued practice. I am transgender and was raised mormon. I am absolutely thanking my parents for not sending me to "conversion" therapy.

It has been a few years, but the LDS actually opposed the law while it was still in the Utah legislature, arguing that it would fail to safeguard "religious beliefs" . It passed against their objections. It isn't a continued practice only because it is illegal in Utah. So the church quit paying for the procedure to avoid legal and financial exposure.

Currently the mormons have adopted a softer version of bigotry, which is to not identify "being gay" as a sin, but doing any homosexual act is sin. The Calvinist/Reformed protestant churches take the same position.
