Okay, this is the thing. Two Thursdays ago, the Purdue Exponent (cheesy college newspaper) printed it's normal edition. There apparantly was a nationally printed comic in there about Slave Reparations which our editor (who is a weenie) decided to remove it from the website and now is printing a lot of annoying editorials about it.
I am trying to find this comic, as I didn't get to read it, and want to see what the big deal is. Any of you see this comic, and have a link? I believe it was a political cartoon with one frame, but I cannot be sure, having not seen it.

<< I see nothing wrong with a cartoon that portrays the truth. >>

Including the line "...so nobodoy will ever dare criticize them, ever!" :disgust: I guess any dissent is "racist." :disgust:

And of course these whiny PC students are attending a taxpayer-subsidized university.

If comic were about the white man oppressing Blacks, Native Americans, Suicide Bombers or any other ethnic group the comic would be fine. But since it?s poking fun at blacks it?s racist, we have to be sensitive to their feelings. You can dam near kill a white guy nowadays and get away with it, but you can?t make fun of a black person.

I think they crossed the line when the little guy in the bottom right said "They also demand the Academy Awards." That was going waaay too far. Man, people should be more careful.

<< Stephens, The Exponent's editor-in-chief, publicly apologized Monday for having run the strip, which he called "offensive, hurtful and prejudicial." But he said Oliphant, a Washington Post cartoonist who is syndicated internationally, will not be dropped. Stephens, who is white, said he planned to convene a series of focus groups this fall to make his staff and the rest of the Purdue community more sensitive and aware of racial issues. >>

Stephens should have called it "offensive, hurtful, prejudicial and true".

That's so funny! I should write an editorial and mention that. :D I don't want to die though.
