Controlling startup programs in Win2k

A bunch of useless programs start automatically each time I start my newly installed Win2k ... what's the best way to control this ? The only way to do this that I know is to go to the registry and delete the unwanted program from here ...

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

... but there's gotta be a better way of doing this ... anyone know what it is ? In Win98 you can use the "Startup" tab in the MSCONFIG program to conveniently manage this ... I am looking something in the line of this for W2k
