Controlling Multiple computers with single devices..

What would be the best way to use/monitor/administer multiple computers in the same house?

In our old place, I just had them in the same room and used a four port USB KVM. But extending the usb connections is not practical.

Ideas?

Remote Desktop, with 2 widescreen monitors, one window for each PC, and as much gigabit ethernetness as you can muster.

That would be hot. Show pics once it works out. 🙂

It looks like that product does not display from the remote computers, simply controls them. That would be useless for me. I need to view the other computers on my primary screen.

Edit - Remote Desktop is probably the best solution if you're running XP all around.

TinyVNC may work as well.
