Controller Options for 15k.7 Cheetah

Hey guys, I just needed some help with my 15k.7 cheetah.

I got my 15k.7 assuming that I could convert the 29pin sff connector to a sata connection, but I as I just found out, apparently you can only convert sata to sas 2.0 not the other way around.

My problem is now I have no clue on what kind of controller to buy. Again the 15k.7 is sas 2.0 but none of the controller cards I find look like they have the right connection.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I stepped in a little bit too much over my head on this, but I'm hoping that I can get this fixed before my SSD fills up all the way.

Thanks

how many of them do you want to run and at what type of RAID? is battery needed on controller, and how hard are you going to be hitting them and with what type of apps/database so we can suggest cards with enough ram to be useful for your application?

Thanks Hardlin, I'm assuming with that cable I could just grab a sas-2 backplate which almost all come with the 8484 connector.

As for what I'll be doing on it Rifter, this is a development/enthusiast rig that I'm future proofing. Mainly I'll be running test server side applications, but I don't need to really optimize for anything specific as I'm simply leaving my production data on the 15k.7 and my personal on the SSD.

With that being said, I think I'm actually going to lean towards getting an adapter for right now, and waiting a bit before I decide on actually running raid.
