Controller Errors

I've got a Gigabyte P55 UDR3 that randomly and rarely throws controller errors. Normally, I'd blame the discs, but it has happened to all of mine, so it has to be the mainboard.

Is there any way to test for errors, like some ultra intensive disc benchmark or program that gives the discs a good thrashing?

also: I've changed all the SATA cables, so they can't be the problem.

edit: asking this now because the PC bluescreened while I was cooking dinner. Event log shows a controller error right before bluescreen.

You are not giving much info on your problem.

Has this been happening from day 1?

Have you updated your BIOS to the latest?

Are you booting from a raid?

Do you use Matrix Storage Management or Rapid Storage Technology drivers?

First noticed this a few months ago...PC is 6 mos old.

No raid set up, no matrix drivers, BIOS is latest.
