well it'll be hard to tell you what to run at because you havent stated any system specs.

bf1942 should be running in opengl.

for standard, try running these settings under opengl tab:

1024*768 (32 bits)
anti-aliasing: 2x
aniso: 16x
Quality
vsync on (or default on)
truform: off

nobody has never messed with their control settings?

Yeah, but it depends on the user and his PC specs etc and what he prefers,I use 16x AF performance setting,Trueform off,AA set to "application preference" and all the other sliders on max (highest quality).

I'm using exactly what Mem is using and it runs like a dream on a 9800np

Run at the optimal resolution of your monitor along with the optimal refresh rate.

AA2x, AF at max, vsync on, truform off, everything on quality

these settings look the best IMO. Your performance may suffer a bit - then you will have to tweak it on your own.

I noticed that you guys are turning the vsync on. I thought that would hinder performance and drop the FPS?

But it will look so much better, especially if you like to fly planes. The faster you move the more things skip and hop across the screen (with VSync off).

The loss in performance is minimal if any, I haven't noticed anything. You get a smoother gameplay with it on.

vsync on will give a more stable fps and less image tearing

All Radeon owners should use 16x performance AF in all games because it's so cheap and extremely good looking. Then experiment with AA on a per application basis if you like, though I'd suggest higher resolutions as a priority. Also keep Truform off and use maximum texture and mip-map details.

Vsync can dramatically reduce performance and increase input lag. Leave it off unless you get excessive tearing.
