I'm looking for a way to set the speed of a chassis fan (3-pin) connected to my ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard. Anyone have any suggestions on how best to do this?
I have tried ASUS' Fan Xpert, and it doesn't work for me at all: there is only the option to adjust all chassis fans at once, and even then there are only three presets that you can choose from (Standard, Silent, Turbo). It seems pretty much useless to me, but if anyone can tell me how to get more options out of it, I'm all ears.
I've also tried SpeedFan and, while I think I have it set up properly, it doesn't actually change the speed of (in my case, the Aux2) fan even after going to the Configure / Speed and making adjustments, and then checking the Automatic fan speed box. Although, the program is not that intuitive and there's probably something I'm missing.
I don't really care what program I have to use, but I just need to change the speed of one of my chassis fans and have those settings be applied at boot up.
