sigh - google isn't going to help with this one guys. Besides I though this place was crawling with nerds! Soooo disappointing! 😛
Anyways, to make a long and technical story short, this device is actually used to capture and log oscillations in the superstructure of a live ship. The datagrams will then be taken ashore and fed into a bad ass supercomputing complex where they will be analysed and compared with other data to solve some onegoing problems. Stuff like that. 🙂
No big deal.
Wait.. so you're comparing wave levels generated by a live ship and computed for what? Calculations of gallons per mile?
