I'm using the GUI but I have had looked at the log and everything was started but when it came time for the server to send the data it didn't. I paused the program and looked at the log for things to settle and then I un-paused the program and after waiting about 30 seconds the data started coming. This was on a Core_16. Perhaps the same is happening to you. I'm mostly getting advanced Core_17's. Also this happened on a dual Nvidia 660 Ti with 3770K @ 4.5 machine had minimal processor operations going on and cable download is residential daytime 50 Mbps 10 Mbps up. Generally the machine should not have looked at as a problem. RAM 2166 8GB.
Are you trying to run the GPU client? If so, what GPU are you running? I had a similar problem a while back when trying to fold on a HD 4850 and found out there are no more WU being assigned to any 4000 series and below GPU's any longer. Some older NVidia cards have been axed as well.
