I've got a bag full of what looks to be some laptop memory sticks. I have no idea what they are, or what model laptop they're for (if they're even for a laptop).

Anyone have a clue?

Here's a pic Scroll to the right to see both kinds front and back. It's a MB picture, but that's to show detail.

Sorry there's no ruler in the pic. Each one is 3.5 inches long and .75 inches wide

The lack of prizes will be discussed later 😉

I used to love threads like this one 😀 thanks amusedone

and btw.. that is a memory stick, I have a few of those somewhere around, not for laptops though

The ones on the left: Silver contact 2MB 30-pin 80ns SIMMs, probably FPM.
The ones on the right: Silver contact 8MB 30-pin 80ns SIMMS, again probably FPM.

They look like 30 pin simms, the same type I used to have in my old 386sx-16, although the Soundblaster AWE 32 also allowed you to use these simms as well.

Yeah, it's some kind of memory. Looks quite a bit like some old fp-ram modules I've got, use one as a key-chain. Got 'em from an old 386 that had 8mb ram, 8 modules!, that was much at that time, used to be a server I think.

I have one of those sound cards in my BP6. It's cool - the biggest card I own, which is really the only reason I use it.

If they're that old, they might be from a Mac. My brother used mac desktops for years until he swtiched to PC laptops.

<< Can anyone tell me how much memory each one is? And if it's for a Mac or IBM? >>

it's 4 mb, 4 1mb chips. dunno what type of machine it's for though, you might try emailing toshiba.

There's two kinds there. On the right is one stick, front and back, on the left, another stick, front and back.

The logo on the memory chips is Hitachi. I believe the date code, 9228 means chips were manufactured in the 28th week of 1991. The logo on the little controller chip is National Semi, and S9218AH looks like the date code meaning the 18th week of 1992.

The one on the very left:
Memory module using parts,

Hitachi
1Mx4 80nS chips

I didn't download the whole pic since it was taking forever.

I've got a bag of about 200 of those, and i can't give 'em away!
BTW I paid $165 for 4 1 mb sticks for my Mac Plus back in 1986. Got my first job just to upgrade that puppy!
