contemplating buying a new processor

I have a HP Pavilion 6611 533mhz with a 370 processor socket. What is the highest speed processor available for that socket and is compatible with the motherboard?

Your best bet would be to call hp. Their specifications list only the celeron and k6-2 for this motherboard. If I had a picture of the board, I might be able to recommend a different board. But your case probably has a custom connector for use with hp boards only, like Dell. If you do call hp, ask them what the cpu voltage setting is for this motherboard. It has an Intel 810 chipset. Then go to pricewatch, and decide how much you want to spend.
