The contacts look normal now once they've sat in the solution overnight.

What do you guys think?

No, they'll be painful and perhaps rip in your eye... go buy some new ones... I've made this mistake before, but mine were dry less then a day.

I think you have to ask yourself how much your eyes are worth.
If you value your eyesight at less than a new pair of contacts, then by all means use them.
If your eyesight is worth more than a pair of new contacts, buy new ones.

I've rehydrated crispy contacts before. In my experience, if they didn't tear in the process of returning to normal, there still good.

Exactly. They'll be just fine.

Wait, so if I'm reading this right...

what happened in the year after your contact solution leaked out? Were your contacts dry the whole time?

In any case, they SHOULD be fine, but there might be something on them. I would probably just get new ones.

If it was dry for only a few days it might be fine to just resoak them for a while. However 1 year of dries out contacts is probably useless by now.

As a contact lens wearer for 20 years I can say they are fine.

Update for you guys

I did wear the contacts, just for the one day that I needed to. They felt fine, had no problems at all.

And I did go out and buy new contacts. I'd rather not wear really old contacts if I don't have to. Good news! My prescription is pretty much the same after 3 or 4 years!

I'm thinking about laser surgery now!
