But then what? Would the discovery be put under wraps, either voluntarily or by government edict? If we found a signal, would you know?...

The way our current govt. has problems keeping secrets under wraps, I'd say even if there was a govt. edict to hush it, it wouldn't stay that way. Not something as significant as that.

So I think we would end up knowing either way. Good, bad, and ugly....
