Have you ever had a contact get stuck in your eye? Here is what happened, I thought I lost my contact yesterday...no big deal, right? I made sure to look in my eye to ensure it wasn't there. Well, all day today my eye felt sort of funny; there was no pain - just some discomfort when I moved my eye in a certain direction. Well, I was rubbing my eye this evening and surprise - my contact came out of my eye all folded up and covered with with some other stuff (I'll leave it at that). I had no way of seeing it in there b.c. it's like it was in the corner of my eye near my tear duct.

Has anyone else had this happen? This is actually the second time this has occured (this first time wa months ago). I'm wondering if I shoud get re-examined so I can get a new script for a different brand.

It happened to a friend of mine. The contact managed to go to the back of her eye or something. They had to put a solution in her eye to break up the contact lens.

I even used a flashlight to check - it's supposed to help you see it better....guess not this time.

Lost a contact? Yeah. Found it in my eye later? NevAr.

I've had one break apart in my eye ... dear god that was painful.

What exactly were you doing when you "lost" your contact? I recommend you avoid that activity in the future, along with rubbing your eyes while wearing lenses.

I have lost a contact in my eye, but it has never been for more than ten or fifteen minutes.

If I'm not sure where my contact is in my eye, I move my eye really fast in all directions. If it's in there, I'll be able to feel it, and get it out. But you should be careful in the future - your eyes are really delicate and I'm guessing it's not too great to leave hydrophilic lenses in there (especially in the back of it) overnight.

My script is so weak, it's hard to tell when one is out. I didn't realize it was "gone" until I got home. I might have rubber my eye during the day - but not hard enough to move the contact off of my pupil.

Then don't wear them if you don't need them. I know if I could be contact-less with 20/25 I'd do it in a heartbeat. Mind you, I get about 20/17 with them.

Rubbing isn't as much of a danger of "moving off the eye" as "tearing" ... which as I mentioned, hurts like a bitch.

Good then - at least some other people have experience this. I will be more careful about touching my eye during the day.

Thanks to all!

Yeah I've had my contact "Escape" quite a few times.
A couple times I gave up getting it out so I went to bed anyway. It came out the next morning.

When i had HARD contacts back when i was like 15, the contact somehow flipped inside out and got caught in the top of my eye lid, but i couldnt see it... Gave me a huge headache and my eye was killing me. Had to go to the hospital to have it removed with tweezers after they numbed my eye....

soft is the way to go
