Suggest somewhat affordable contacts for me! I've used Acuvue Advance for the past year and I want to know if there's anything else that's come out and is a better deal.

I wouldnt know.
I have 20/60 vision in one eye. Contacts arent practical at that level.

Have an optometry consult this Thursday. Will get either PRK or Lasik by the middle of April.
Getting tired of glasses.

I have worn contacts for about 12 years now and my opinion, which could be wrong, is that they are all priced just about the same - outside of things like bifocal lenses, astigmatism, colored and so forth. Back in the day that 1-800-Contacts was cheaper than my local doctor's office, so you could check them out. I suppose my real point is that the different product lines all cost about the same, but where you purchase them may be cheaper.

If you have a Costco near you with an optical department, check out what kinds of deals they have. I saved a TON on my daily wear contacts when I bought them there. It was way cheaper than what my eye doctor was charging for the same thing. You do have to buy in bulk, though. For the ones I use it was a minimum of six boxes of 30 contacts per order, which worked out to about $105 for 90 pairs.

On a related note, does anyone know if it is really horrible for your eyes if you stretch the dailies out to changing them every two days indead of every day. You'd think that over a single day, you wouldn't have enough gunk build up on them to really hurt you (especially since they'll be sitting in cleaning solution all night). I know my eye doctor would tell me not to do it, but she is in the business of selling contacts so I just don't consider her unbiased. It;d save me some money if I couold stretch out the dailies a bit, but I don't want to mess up my eyes to save a buck.

I wear Soflens toric lenses by Bausch & Lomb; they cost more than regular lenses :( But I agree with Babbles... just look for a good deal.

I don't know about a deal, but I love my new acuvue oasis lens. I had the acuvue 2's before, and I can where these longer and more comfortably. They are more expensive and need more care (I have to rub them to clean them every few days), but they are worth it. Don't screw around with your eyes.

Dunno about soft ones, but I couldn't get used to hard contact lenses a couple years ago.

I sport O2 Optics. I got a hot deal on them a while back. I think I paid $10 AR for 3 or 4 packs.
