Anybody know if there's a way to get contact lenses locally, without a prescription? The only thing I do have is the old boxes for my last set of contacts.

i'd try ordering them online. they ask for your doctor's name etc, but up until 6 months ago I was using a 5 year old prescription. I don't think they ever contacted that doctor to check (1800contacts).

Walk into various places and tell them you are visiting and lost a contact and can you get a sample set.

As for buying full boxes? Probably not. They really have a nice business model requiring an RX for something so minor.

Not sure what OC you're in but in Cali, there are quite a few Korean optometrists in Garden Grove/Diamond Bar that will sell you lenses without an rX.

Try online? I highly doubt they all require a Rx or actually check them if you provide a fake one.

If you live in a major city, getting Rx is dirt cheap. It's $20 in Chinatown and I had an excellent first-hand experience from it (big yelp reviews too).

they may or may not verify your doctor info. But you DO need to send them a script.
