Contact Lenses: Is it OK to order contacts w/ base curve .1 lower than prescription?

My prescription for toric contact lenses currently state base curve as 8.7 and diameter as 14.4
I got the examination from walmart and ordered my first pair of toric lenses there, when I looked just now the diameter they gave me is actually 14.5!! They work fine and are very comfortable. Now I am looking to get cheap color contact lenses and the ones I want have base curve 8.6 and diameter 14.5. Will .1 base curve lower really make a difference since .1 diameter bigger didn't really make a difference?

Yea, but walmart themselves gave me .1 diameter bigger than prescription!

i dunno.
I know i'm getting .1 basecurve higher than what I first originally had.
My doctor changed it and now I get the one that's higher.

But I switched brands tho.

it's probably the curve of your eyeball .

I dont like the current one they put me on, and I'm gonna go back to the previous ones as soon as I use up whatever I have left.

The lenses won't be comfortable if the base curve is too far off. Trying them out won't hurt your eyes, an you'll be able to tell pretty quickly if they don't fit.

being off on diameter won't matter as much for fit as being off on curve.

If so, I would think that's pretty insignificant. Are contact lenses really divided in 0.1mm increments?
