I need new contacts and it seems you can't get them w/o a valid prescription. So does anyone know any good deals on exams? Wal-Mart is doing them for $100! I'm in NJ, but any national chain type thing would work.. thanks.

You need to post this in the right forum like IWANA. Requests not permitted here.

Iwanna is for thoughts in exile. This can go in off topic, and you'll get the best responses.

And btw, usually the doctor, for example one that's next to and associated with For Eyes out here, includes the first prescriptions with the eye exam. That way they atleast get your first contact purchase. So comparing exam fees depends on whats included.

If you were a veteran, I know a deal. Most veterans don't even know this, but if you are a veteran and need an eye exam, call the VA telephone advice nurse, they will schedule you for an eye exam when your VA doctor won't. I think it is still a $50 copay because that is the standard fee for seeing any specialist at the VA, but better than anything I have encountered outside, and they will do contact prescriptions as well.

If you are not a veteran, try Sam's Club.

I know Optical Outlet runs a lot of contact eye exam deals here in Florida usually for like 40 bucks for eye exam. Hopefully they got one up your way.
