I heard like 20-30. 30 if you're up there. So how is it? Tough? Is it worth getting paid 20 an hour? What's it like? Is it for losers who don't have the skills to go to college?

25 dollars per hour, no taxes! :) 45-50 hours a week and im 16

money for me! no taxes for me!

it's tough, but if you do it with nice people it's only hard at times and you do a lot of sitting and resting :D but it may be hard to get a good job if you are a weak little person (like me) unless you have certain connections (like me)

i paint (brush, roll, spray), texture, sheetrock, sanding, sweep, clean, and lots of sitting and sweating in the hot ass sun... i do more stuff too, but i cant think of anything right now...

If you want a good wage, work cranes. To make a long story short, I was listening to the local Pop radio station, Z100 Portland, and they were talking about the car that they had hanging up(They're giving away Madonna's Mercedes SL 1988). Anyways, the law here(if not nationally) states that when you're suspending something from a crane, there has to be someone in the operator's booth at all times. The kicker, the guy in the booth at that time was getting paid $35 an hour to sit there.:Q Now tell me that isn't some good money.:D

I know you may find this hard to believe, but there is more than 1 kind of construction worker. If you wanna start out and dont know a damn thing, expect to be on the business end of a broom for not much over minimum wage.

Or you could be like me, and be the boss, and yell at people till they quit, then be on the business end of a broom making good money. :)

My dad gets paid about 16-18 an hour, he's non-union, and he's been working there for a good 15 years, possibly more. Is my dad getting screwed? :)

The average "joe construstion worker" (laborer) doesn't get paid Jack. You need a skilled trade job before you'll make any money.

Just don't expect to start out making big money. There are some trades that pay good. Some that don't. It's like anything else.

You also need to take into account that construction work is not steady work so you have to figure in a certain amount of unemployment into the salary.

Before I got hurt a few years back, I was a road boss for a large company in St. Louis. Scale was $27.90 for my card and I made that plus $6.00 an hour!:) I also had a very nice company truck, full medical, dental & eyecare, life & accident insurance and 3 weeks paid plus 2 weeks personal days!:)

I also have two degrees from MU in B/A & C/S so I don't think construction is only for those to dumb to go to college!;)
