I've been feeling very sluggish the past month or so. If I get 8-10 hours of sleep, I am still somewhat exhausted. Any suggestions? Thanks

Do you excercise and is your diet total sh*t? I know somebody like this and they don't excercise much and their diet is totally brutal. You can't lie around the house eating chips and candy and expect to have energy.

Common sense? We can't have any of that here. All we care about are completely uneducated, split-second diagnoses. :p

I havent been exercising lately because I work all day, but I also have been feeling mildly depressed...nothing serious but little worrying about something going on.

I'm very tired also but I manage. Sounds like you need some professional help with getting that much sleep and it not helping. I get about 5.5-6.5 hours of sleep at night and sometimes I manage to get a few winks in during class:)

Anytime somethingin my life is stressful depending on the severity of it sometimes it makes me just want to sleep as well so that I don't have to think about it. Consider beer as a treatment :D

actually beer didnt work. Last week I way over did it at the bars and I was sick until 2 in the afternoon the next day. Then I slept the entire day and was still exhausted the next day. Last night I went to the bars to have a beer with a bunch of friends and was feeling tired so I went home after a beer to sleep.

It sounds to me like you have some kind of chemical imbalance, and you should get your doctor to prescribe something, because you could be suffering from some form of depression. There are a number of extremely helpful pharmeceutical companies working very hard for our benefit, and it sounds like it might be worth your while to check into this.

OTOH, you probably just need to eat better and get more exercise.

Yes, it is ;)

If your sleep is not restful, then it's possible you could have some sort of sleep disorder like sleep apnea.

Make sure you're not dehydrated. Drink water, even if you're a bit dehydrated you would feel fatigued. PLUS - alcohol dehydrates you, and dehydration is the cause of hangovers. I came home from a club last night, drank 2 liters of water, went to bed. woke up completely refreshred...and an insane need to take a leak. DRINK WATER.

Also, get the supplement CoQ-10 it is a chemical that is used by every single cell in your body. Patients with chronic fatigue syndrome that take that supplement show significant improvement. Personally, I take many supplements (if you want to know which ones and why, feel free to PM me), along with CoQ-10. I average 5 hrs of sleep throughout the week, and if i feel tired a 30 min power nap refreshes me completely. I highly suggest you buy some, will do nothing short of improving your health.

this could be from being depressed (very common) or also you might have mono. either way, get it checked out. any time you feel down in the dumps for more than a couple weeks, you're dealing with depression and you ought to talk to someone.

I was having the same problem. Always sapped. Never had any energy. Even after sleeping 10 hours had trouble waking up.

Dad said it was probably cancer :p (no really)

Gonna go see a doc.

Thanks guys. I dont consider myself to be a depressed person and I can snap out of my feeling sluggishness temporarly, but recently I just want to go to sleep early and I have a hard time making it through the workday without wanting to go home and go to sleep. I take a centrum everyday, but that doesnt seem to do much. I usually go and buy a coffee in the morning and a soda in the afternoon to try to keep me alert.
