Constant whine from speakers?

My speakers seem to be making a constant whining noise, that also is affected by CPU usage it seems, i.e the pitch will change when the CPU is in use.

Is this just interference from having onboard sound? I''ve got a DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D with that Karajan Adio module, which I thought was supposed tohelp eliminate this kind of interference?

If I mute the volume , the sound goes away, and it gets quieter/noisier dependent on overall volume.

Anything I can do to resolve this?

I don't know a whole lot about audio, so thought I'd ask here first 🙂

Thanks in advance

what kind of speakers are you using?

i had some old creative ones that would buzz whenever the dvd-rom drive would spin... very anoying.

I have a same situation with my new altec lansing. It buzz and beeps rather loudly when a cell phone rings close by 🙁

Are you connected to front panels outputs or the rear i/o panel audio out?

The front pane outputs of my computer seem to amplify all of that emi / rfi (?) that my mobo's integrated sound is also picking up.

I don't think I have a soundcard around to check, But I'll have a look.

I'm connected round the back of the PC.

It's definately not the hard disks 😛

If I increase/decrease the volume, the noise follows suit, both on the PC and on the speakers remote control dongle thingy.

Just tried plugging my stereo into the output (I have those kinds of leads lying around 😕 and it's very quiet. Thus it obviously is those speakers, anythig I can do about them? (other than get rid of them?)

EDIT:

On closer inspection, it's still there, I jumped the gun a bit on that one.

muting shouldn't do anything if it were the speakers. its your pc.

try muting things in volume control like line in until u fine whats making a racket
