System specs and network setup:

NIC: nForce 100/100 Integrated
Internet: Adelphia Cable through Terayon Modem
PC: Athlon 4400+ on DFI nF4 LanParty board, 2 GB Corsair XMS RAM, 74GB Raptor, etc
Network Setup:
-Cable Modem into WRT54G router, connected to an XBox 360, Roommate #1 and #2's PCs (all hard-wired), plus a laptop (wireless) and...
-...another router, this one a WRT54GS, through a regular LAN port. This router is configured as a switch, and feeds three PCs hard-wired (wireless is disabled).

Ports are forwarded correctly from the original router to my PC using a static IP outside the DHCP range. All the computers but mine show up in the DHCP client table on router #1, indicating that the switch configuration is correct. I know how to do that basic stuff.

The WRT54GS (which is configured as a switch by going into Setup -> Advanced Routing and changing the type from Gateway to Router) seems to be the problem. When I connect wirelessly or directly to the WRT54G (actual router), no timeouts happen.

I have followed these directions to the letter:

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,14465130?hilite=default+password+2wire

And the problems still occur. It must be the 2nd router.

I have tried it with both routers' firewalls disabled, and tried it with keeping them on but turning on Anonymous Requests and IDENT. This does not help.

Any ideas?
