Constant "Restore Active Desktop"

My XP Pro keeps coming up with a background that says I must restore my active desktop. I would loose my wallpaper and all. What is causing this? It started to do this one day and can't seen to figure out why.

Is your computer shutting down correctly? In Windows 98, if your computer crashes and you have an IE wallpaper, you'll get that message.

Maybe try this?

same problem here, fixed by reformatting. The desktop settings showed Active Desktop as not being enabled yet I had to keep pressing the button to get my wallpaper back. Very Ghey.
