it is nonstop from the time the laptop using the card is connected.

I have 2 laptops connecting wirelessly to the network with different types of adapters, the problem follows the adapter and not the computer.

why is this wireless-g constantly trying to login to my router?

Check for malware on the machine. There has been a "bug" going around that would scan for typical home routers try default and various other simple passwords, log in and change settings like DNS etc so that you were fed ad filled webpages. Might not be but just an idea.

The adapter's Job is to try to connect to the Wireless Source (there is a setting that ask it to do so).

Why it fails?

Well, I do not know because there is No real info in your post that can help to determine any thing.

I think he is connected wirelessly ok, but that computer is hammering on the router's login screen. That "router log" looks a lot like a router log you see inside the web interface. At least that is what I can deduce....

Could be, and I can "paint" another 5 scenarios.

However personally, I am a little fed up with the "I have a problem" guess what the problem is, type of posts with providing any reasonable explanation to the makeup of the system, and the back ground condition. 🙁

That would pretty much rule-out malware on the PC being the problem.

Have you looked for firmware/driver updates for the adapter that's causing this error?

I removed the drivers and software that came with the adapter and just let windows set it up and the constant failed logins stopped.

The problem here was that the adapter was trying to login to my router, it had no reason to need to do that, it was connected to the network and was working fine.

it is interesting that the oe drivers/software was somehow trying to access my routers interface, still trying to figure that one out.

~edit~ {Hug} for the cranky moderator 🙂 ~edit~

Some adapters install and run their own utility when you install the Drivers.

If both WZC and the vendor's wireless utility are working at the same time many strange things can happen.
