I tried playing TF2, L4D2, and other non steam games today and I cannot get any games to stay connected. In TF2 and L4D2 I get instant disconnects after I load into the game. The non steam games are either instant or crash in under a minute. I can surf the internet at download files fine, but games just keep disconnecting. I do not think my internet connection actually goes off though. This is only for online play as I managed to play about 2 hours of Shogun 2 in the afternoon.
I just got back from spring break, so I have not touched my computer for a week at my dorm room. My roommate is on the same network and is not exhibiting any of my issues. At the moment I do not believe it is the network, but my own computer causing this issue. I honestly am stumped as to how to fix this. I tried updating my network drivers, doing a network restore, and disabling UAC nothing. My firewall is off and I do not have a virus scanner, so no problem there.
System specs:
AMD Phenom II 955 BE (Not overclocked)
ASUS 790FX
OCZ 4GB (2X2GB) DDR2
XFX ATI HD 5770
WD 1TB Black HDD
Creative X-fi extremegamer sound card
Windows 7 64-bit
