Does it really matter which lender I consolidate with? Shouldn't they all be the same and all they are concerned with is the interest they lose out on if I don't consolidate with them?
 
Look at whoever gives you the lowest rate. Other than that it doesn't really matter. The only other reason it might matter is that some lenders are nicer with late payments and those types of things. I know I just went with the lender who offered the best rate.
 
thats what I thought, I did mine through SallieMae and I am doing my wifes through EdAmerica. I called one lender up because I needed more info and they begged me to consolidate with them. I turned them down because they weren't very nice to say the least
