Other than Ghostbusters, not much this week. I'm still torn between choosing between Ghostbusters for the 360 or the Wii. I may have to give both a rental to see which one I like the best.

8-hour playthrough for Ghostbusters? I think I'll wait until it's cheaper, although I was going to do that anyway. :)

Ghostbusters for me! Toysrus will give you a $20 gift card if you buy the game and I still have the $20 gift card from their Resident Evil 5 deal so now is the perfect time to use it!

For those of us at work, what kind of numbers is Ghostbusters getting in reviews? What are the general comments? I might pick it up on my way home.

The gang?s all here?well, except for Louis. Terminal Reality might have created the only true Ghostbusters game, ever, but it?s about as good as we could have asked for (could have used more Murray, though). Who you gonna call? Atari for some DLC.

The game was made with a definite sense of appreciation for the original films, and stands well against any other action game out there, even without its license. Sure, it's got some problems, but it's still everything a true fan could hope for.

There are some flaws, including the lack of a local co-op mode, however there is just so much that was done right that you can't help but have a blast. It may not be everything you ever wanted out of a Ghostbusters game, but it's as close as you're going to get to perfection at this point.

For whatever Ghostbusters: The Video Game is lacking purely as a game ? and really, it?s not that much ? it more than makes up for it in the production. We should hold it up as a model not just for movie into video game translations, but as an example of how you treat a beloved institution right when making a video game about it.

Ghostbusters combines a tried-and-true structure with a familiar but fresh license, filling that game with personality and panache - and that's what really raised our spirits. [July 2009, p.72]

There are some moments that cause the game to stumble, but you're getting a new tale in the Ghostbusters canon, fun gameplay, a whole bunch of stuff to destroy, and some cool ghosts to scan. I felt that the game's ending was a bit flat and the romantic interest was forced, but Ghostbusters is a hell of a ride.

It suffers from a few issues (sloppy lip-syncing, repetitive music, unbalanced difficulty), but Ghostbusters: The Video Game is a must play for fans as well as gamers in search of a new shooter.

The real meat of the game is getting to play through the Ghostbusters experience we've always dreamed about as kids - a story that could have easily been "Ghostbusters III." [July 2009, p.81]

Though I was ultimately somewhat disappointed by the flawed and fundamentally repetitive nature of my time as a green recruit, Ghostbusters' tight online component renewed my long-term enthusiasm for slam-dunking slimers.

Reception
Greg Miller of IGN gave the game a score of 8.0 out of 10. In the review, he stated that both the Xbox and the PS3 versions are the same in most respects. He lists the CGI scenes as a positive feature, with negatives including stiff characters and bad lip sync. With regards to gameplay, Miller describes the game as a "love letter to Ghostbusters fans", saying that it "makes you feel like you are really a Ghostbuster." The Wii version recieved a 7.8, however, according to an Another Take written by Matt Casamassina, he said that disagreed with Greg that the aiming system would be better if it resembled Resident Evil 4's; Matt said that the system was better than Capcom's system. [29] [30] The magazine PSM3 gave the game a score of 85 out of 100, stating that the game was "too short, but packed with quality and imagination."[31] The A.V. Club gave the game a B-, noting that it was the best Ghostbusters game.[32]

And thanks to those that posted reviews! I might swing in o nthe way home from work.

Anyone read comments on th econtrol system for ghostbusters and how long the signle player campaign is?

If you averaged out the 3 Wii scores at metacritic, it would be only a 72. The Wii is the only version that gets local co-op but it is also shorter than the 360 and PS3 version.

The PS3 vs 360 comparisons for resolution has also reared up its ugly head again. The Lens of Truth and Gamezine did side by side comparisons and claim that the PS3 version runs at 960 x 540 with 4X AA causing blurriness while the 360 version is rendered at 720p with 2X AA.

The blame for this is being place on the developer Terminal Reality not optimizing the PS3 engine and the game being rushed out the door.
