Perhaps THE most overused and dramatized "issue" of the entire generation. Seriously? The "Waaaah MS forces you to pay for Netflix!" argument again?

I'm not sure if a semicolon is necessary for that statement.

It's probably because they find it annoying. You find it annoying that they complain about it. See, two different people finding something annoying. That's how the world works.

Ultimately Sony removed my Linux OS support on my PS3 and thus I won't buy a PS4. They broke a key feature I wanted and used and then unashamedly took it away making it useless so I sold it. Microsoft has DRMed the hell out of their Xbox so I won't be getting that either.

If you think a company is treating you unfairly you always have the choice to just ignore them and buy something else instead. But neither company is what I would call well behaved.

That's deep. Thanks for the invaluable insight.

i agree about the tired complaint about "have to pay ms to use netflix" too. no, you don't have to pay ms to use netflix. you have about a dozen other options.

The thing is, it's such a dick move on their part it just makes no sense. How does paywalling netflix help them? If anything it just makes it less likely for people to keep thei 360s if they find themselves not playing them much.

And this is why people find it annoying. If there are 10 other options to access Netflix, and there's one outlier that is part of a gold/premium package only, people will not find that very cool at all.

That's exactly what I did. I got rid of my 360 because I didn't game on it much and my wife couldn't use it to watch Netflix.
