I'm not too sure how to ask this question, but my current "problem" I guess, it that I've connected my PS2 via s-video into my 2001FP, but the picture isn't "sharp". Now DVD movies seem to play normally, but games come out less than what I'm used to. Games seem less sharp, and more... blocky. Not sure how to describe it.

Of course on my TV my PS2 was connected through component video cables, but I didn't think image quality would take that big of a hit from using s-video. What is the problem here? At the very least, if I am unable to rememdy it, I would like this to be a educating experience. =]

That's basically what happens when you scale a 480i image (which is all that can be transmitted over S-Video) up to 1600x1200. I believe there are transcoders/adapters that can convert Component signals into VGA, which would give you the best picture, but they aren't exactly cheap from what I've seen.

Ahhh. Conversion. Yikes these converters are expensive. Almost makes it worth it to get a separate tv for the PS2. I had no idea. I am assuming there are no alternatives to fix this besides using a convertor?

doublejbass: Quality is bearable, but because I am used to component video quality gaming, I would like to keep it that way. Besides, the component cables were expensive, so I wanna see some use outta them.
