Console gamers or anyone with experience playing console games!

So i'm considering a console...
I want games that are fun to play with 2-4 people as well as some decent single player games...

PS2 i know has awesome single player games like Okami and all the RPGs etc.
But how about the fun party/2 player style games??
No console is out really, as i know little about any of them (mostly pc gaming til this point)

ps2 has some great party games, Guitar hero, karaoke revolution... but I think the Wii is going to be king of fun multiplayer games, mario party, smash, wario ware etc
But yeah, Guitar hero 1 and 2 are great, can't go wrong w/ those games.

Yeah, if you are going to play with other people, the Wii would definitely be the way to go. That is really the only playtime my Wii gets, when I am playing with friends or whatever - though Zelda is a good single player game (as far as what is available now).

I know there are some people who are buying used PS2s just so they can play Guitar Hero. That looks like the ultimate party game (or rather the only party game that has me interested).
