Is this a good choice? I am not going to be doing too much gaming with this, just picture, movie editing etc.
And I dont have >150 to spend on a video card.

I am building my 1st system.
So far, i have ordered:
CPU - Pentium 4 2.4C Ghz @800FSB - retail version(with heat sink and fan)
Mobo - MSI 865PE Neo2LS - 800FSB, SATA, 8xAGP....

Looking fwd to hearing your thots/suggestions/recommendations etc.....

Thnks in advance...!

9500pro is overkill if you're not going to be doing gaming, plus you'll never find one for $150. Personally I'd just get something cheap, since it doesn't look like you'll need anything powerful for what you'll be doing, maybe a geforce2. Since you mentioned video editing, did you need one with vivo or anything special like that?

i happen to notice that ati cards put out a much sharper font in windows than my Ti4400 and FX5600U
but hey! save all the money in the world and get a GF2ultra

;) I'd say the 4200 is a great choice and still a top performing card. DX8 doesn't hurt and won't for a good while ... and most people find 2xAA+4xAF enough so don't need the 4xAA+8xAF offered by the higher priced cards. Anything below a 4200 is likely to be very variable in terms of clock speeds and therefore overall perf, but you should find a Rad9000pro, 9200, 9200pro, 8500 or GF-FX5200 will give you the perf you need if your gaming needs are small but as said these vary a fair bit and the 4200 are very consistent. The likes of 9500pro, 9600pro and FX5600ultra are certainly overkill (and a good 30-50% more pricey), apart from the 9500pro they don;t really offer extra speed just DX9 and better AA+AF. IMHO grab a 4200 with 128MB built by any manu.

Thanks All
I have decided to go ahead with Ti4200 albeit a refurb one from newegg.
Am still deciding between getting the MSI manufactured or Albatron one. Both are $85.
Albatron one does come with VIVO and DVI adaptor as well... Hmm....leaning toward Albatron
