Considering Motherboard and Video Chipsets

I'm putting together a new AM2 Athlon x2 microATX system and have grown tired of waiting for MSI to release their K9AGM-FID motherboard. I plan on building the system with the ATI All-In-Wonder X1900 video card. The only motherboard with the ATI Xpress 1150 chipset that seems to be available is the ECS RS485M-M, however I would prefer SATAII and Gigabit LAN capability.

I just don't know enough whether I should avoid getting a motherboard with an Nvidia chipset if I'm going to run an ATI video card.

Thanks for your help and expertise!

No. nVidia video cards work fine with ATI chipsets and vice versa. The only time you would need to keep that in consideration is if you decide to go SLI or Crossfire, then you need to stick with the respective companies.

It is a good thing.. VIA and SIS wouldn't have any video card to be used with their motherboard, and user will only have their onboard video solution to use...

But.. I think that SIS has graphic chip used on some video card.. so that let VIA alone with Intel..
