The main difference being that there is no blade, it's all done by laser, from cutting the corneal flap onward.
I've read that this procedure has a better recovery rate and more likely to have 20/20 than with a blade.
I've read alot about lasik, and experiences, but not too many with iLasik, has anyone here had it done?

Not sure how using a laser for cutting the corneal flap instead of a blade would affect the end vision results. It might have some affect on the healing process since a laser could make a more accurate and cleaner cut than a blade.

The real advantage in iLasik is that it uses the wavefront technology (sometimes called high-definition LASIK) which not all LASIK procedures do. I had wavefront LASIK a few years ago. It's the best money I've ever spent on a doctor.

Do you get dry eye? I've always been confused about the dry eye thing. People say they can use eye drops and it's all good, but do eye drops really last that long? When I use eye drops for dry eye with contacts, they are effective for a grand total of a minute or two. Are you guys with lasik putting eye drops in all the time?

I've really only read good things about iLasik, and a place by Boston has 2100 off the procedure, so it's time to use my FSA and get this done once and for all. Thanks TLC, much appreciated.

I never had the problem with dry eyes. Used the drops for about a week and just didn't need them, though my eye doctor suggested that I should continue to apply the drops for 2 weeks whether I had dry eyes or not. My wife had hers done the week before I did and had a dry eye problem with one of her eyes that lasted about 6 months. Gradually that went away.
