Re Antivir, I took a look and it looks like a pretty cool product. As I said, I haven't heard of it previous to this. So I'll definitely check it out and read up on it some more.

I avoid Norton like the plague because the software assumes the user is incompetent. I don't have Windows automatic updates on automatic, so Norton screams at me. I don't set full scan schedules, so Norton screams at me. And it seems there is no way to disable all these "alerts". I am very impressed with Kaspersky, especially how it treats the user as a knowledgeable person.

Do any of your employers have "home use programs" for software ? Mine does and I can use either Symantec Endpoint or MacAfee for free with automatic renewals. Might be worth looking into.

Did something change with Trend since 2006? back then I thought it did a wonderful job?
