Considering getting Disney Infinity Starter Pack 3.0 - Questions

I'm not really into the console gaming scene, but we do have several consoles in the house. We have a Wii, XB360, XB1 and a PS3. My stepson uses the XB's upstairs in his room, we have the Wii hooked up, but rarely play it, and the PS3 is used primarily for blu ray playback. We're considering getting the Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter pack for my 6 yr old daughter, but I'm wondering if I should get it for the Wii or the PS3. I'm not even sure I can find it for the Wii, we were at Target yesterday and didn't see any. Anyways, if I were to get it, should I get it for the PS3? Is the PS3 pretty much obsolete, but still fine for a 6 year old? I'm trying to use this as an excuse to upgrade to a PS4 but it's not happening lol. Any reason not to get it for the PS3?

Walmart has a PS4 bundle with Infinity 3.0 Star Wars. get that.

Also I don't think the toybox mode is available day one. It may be released later on as an expansion.
