Considering Getting a 3770 over 3770K

Is the only difference between the 3770 and 3770K overclocking-specific, except for the enterprisey features that come with the 3770, and the 100mhz difference. Are all performance characteristics otherwise the same? I guess the short question is, if I don't intend to overclock, is there any reason I may want to get a 3770k over a 3770?

If you plan to re-sell later, the K models will be easier to offload at a higher price. If you plan to keep for 5+ years, just get the 3770 vanilla.

Yep, I don't plan to resell later. I normally only upgrade my core components every 3 years by which point it probably wouldn't be worth the effort to sell, so yeah I think I'll go with the vanilla 3770.

Thanks

Then again, the 3770k is only about 5% more. Hmm, maybe I should just be patient and wait until the 3770k. I'll probably get $30 worth of fun overclocking out of it, even if I don't intend to keep it overclocked.

I just sold a 5 - 6 year old system for $160 and it took almost no effort, it will probably still be worth it.

The real question is, is there any reason to get the 3770 over the 3770K.

Unless $20 makes a difference to you...
