Considering doing a fresh instal of XP, want to set it up right, what do I need to know

How did you save backup to the DVD drive exactly?

You need to SET UP YOUR DVD BURNER in the path with the future file archive name when True Image asks you smth like: "Choose an existing file to back up..."

it calls 'Select backup archive location'.

Then Acronis'll ask you to insert the blank DVD by itself.

Coolred, As you may be aware, you should have a bare minimum hardware configuration when you do a clean install. I remove my soundcard and all usb connected devices so that windows will not attempt install routines for devices while windows is being installed.
