considering buying an LCD tv

Not sure on the make/model, but we have an LCD tv at work with RCA/composite/svideo inputs (no dvi or VGA). I think it's 22". Would this make a crappy monitor assuming the refresh and dot pitch numbers were fair? It has no monitor input or DVI, so I'll be using the svideo from my AIW 8500.
