Considering Acer aspire timeline m3

Hi recently i decided to look into buying a new laptop. A problem ive always had with them though is battery life. If i want to do some work (programming) elsewhere in the house away from my desktop, i still need to be near a plug socket which in my house isn't always convenient.
I spend a fair amount of my time in the kitchen speaking to my dad about a joint project were working on and having a laptop would benefit us. As we can try things out etc.

Which is whats led me to considering an acer aspire timeline m3. Since it has up to 8 hours battery life. It also comes with a 640m dedicated card. And while i wouldn't really play games on it. To me its still an added bonus (might be wrong though).

The problem i have at the moment is the cpu.

i3-2367M Dual Core 1.4GHz

This seems kind of weak. to me at least.

They also have some with

i5-2467UM Dual Core 1.6GHz (Turbo Boost up to 2.3GHz)

Which costs rougly £100 more but i still have doubts about it aswell

I mostly want it for visual studio 2010. I would also be getting windows 8 and using the visual studio 2012 express editions. (Largely a curiosity thing).

Theres also the game side of things according to notebook check the 640m has fairly decent performance. In most games with low-medium settings but when using an i7.

So i have no idea how the laptops with the i3 or i5 compare. So as i said its more of an added bonus but still something i want to factor into my decision.

Price wise im looking around £400 to £520.

i3-2367M

i5-2467UM

i5-2467UM with 128gb ssd

So does anyone have any suggestions as to which i should buy (if any). Im open to the suggestion of another similarly priced laptop.
But battery life is an important factor.
