Considering a Ryzen build, but... graphics?

As I understand it, Ryzen processors do not include a GPU, so therefore a graphics card will be required.

I started to have a browse around of ASUS's boards for Ryzen processors with my usual supplier when I came across this one:
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/EX-A320M-GAMING/specifications/

Under 'graphics', the specs say "Integrated Graphics Processor", which I thought was awfully non-specific (the AM3 boards I used to buy included either the HD3300 or the HD4290), so I consulted the manual which says:

"Integrated AMD Radeon R Graphics in the 7th generation A-series APU"

AFAIK this generation APU isn't even available yet? I'm also slightly confused about why ASUS is apparently selling a board with on-board graphics ports when there is no on-board graphics hardware (be it on-board or on-chip). I would have thought they'd sell Ryzen motherboards that have no graphics ports on the IO panel, or they'd sell a board that can take both Ryzen and 7th gen APUs but has an on-board GPU as a fall-back solution.

Am I missing something here?

The A320 is a lower end chipset, and the motherboards being sold with it are targeted towards system builders who are more likely to use an APU with integrated graphics (vs X370 or to a lesser extent B350, where most buyers will use dedicated GPUs).

The Raven Ridge APUs may not be out yet, but once they are the onboard graphics ports will be needed.

The A320 motherboards make a little more sense if the Raven Ridge APUs were launched sooner, but their launch date was pushed to 2018. In any case, they are still inexpensive motherboards (without official overclocking support) that can be used with Ryzen 3 and higher right now, you just need a dedicated GPU. Only reason to get one is if you are on a really tight budget and/or plan on swapping it out with a Raven Ridge APU later. For everyone else B350 motherboards aren't much more expensive.

Yes you are correct that Ryzen does not include integrated graphics, so, if you buy Ryzen, you would need a discrete graphics card. All of the motherboards support integrated graphics that are included in APUs.

Bristol Ridge APUs are available now and will work in AM4 motherboards and do have integrated graphics. However, these are not Ryzen based and are the older generation of chips. Raven Ridge is what you are looking for and yes you are right, they are not available yet. They will be soon however.

Oh, I forgot about Bristol Ridge (which is funny because I have a X4 950, but that's an Athlon without integrated graphics). But yeah, Raven Ridge is what you want, if you want an APU. Bristol Ridge is more of a stopgap.
